The social not-so niceties

I don't need regrets responses. I don't even care much about RSVPs; that's a logistical tool for the household. But if you do send regrets, you may want to make sure your reasons are in line with whatever plans for the evening you do make, and then post about online where I can see them. So you don't want to go to my last-minute party? Okay, it's all good. But lie to me and yeah, my feelings will be hurt. That's not all good, not even close.

If you aren't sure this is about you, please don't dig deep looking for evidence that it might be: it isn't, and I don't want to lay guilt trips on anyone. I'm having a party tonight, and no matter how many people show up, I am going to have fun. Whatever you are doing, I hope you have fun, too.

Uh, yeah. That sucks. Folks just need to remember that "having previous plans" is a perfectly polite thing to say when sending regrets.

I hope you have a WONDERFUL TIME!!!!!! :) Theoretically C and I are having dinner with his cousin tonight, who is in town and dealing with some unfortunate medical business, so we're taking her out for some good food and hopefully some cheery conversation.
